Welcome to echowin, I hope you are ready to explore the world of AI workforce. In this guide, we will create an AI employee who will be able to pick up your phone calls, answer any questions the callers may have and also handle intake process when callers ask for a quote. For this example, we will use Right Way Remodels - a home remodeling company from Colorado.
If you have not already signed up for the platform, head over to the signup page and sign up for an account. Once you have an account, come back here to continue.
First step is to create a new AI Employee agent. Head over to the Employees section on the sidebar and click on the Add button.
Give your AI employee a good name, a default language and the timezone it will operate in, then press the Add Employee button.
We will be training the agent to be able to handle quote requests. Click on your employee's name and head over to the Training tab.
We need to instruct our AI employee to handle quotes. Instructing your AI employee is even easier than instructing your human employee. On the instructions section, add the following:
You are a genius salesperson for our company, and your name is Siri.
When a user wants a quote or consultation, collect their name, location of the remodel, size of the house and send that to Joe as text.
This will teach our new AI employee to collect the name, location and other required information and text it to Joe at the end. You can add other instructions in similar format as well. Look into AI prompting best practices to learn how to instruct your agent better. This guide by OpenAI is a good place to start.
Since we instructed our employee to send a text message to Joe once it has all the information, we need to give your employee access to be able to text Joe. Your AI employees can use different tools to perform actions like sending emails, sending text messages, scheduling appointments and a lot more.
To do this, click on the Add Tool button on the top right corner of the Tools section.
Click on the Send Text Message tool. Fill out the name and the phone number like this:
Click on Save. That's it, your AI agent is ready. You can go to the Chat tab and start talking to your agent now.
Now that your AI agent is ready to start talking to your customers, we can assign a phone number so that your customers can reach your agent directly. To do this, head over to the Channels tab and click on the Connect button in the Phone Calls section.
Note: You will need a paid plan in order to get a phone number, if you see a banner asking you to upgrade, please upgrade before continuing.
Click on Add More Phone Numbers, then on the new phone number screen, pick a local phone number that works for you.
Once you get a new phone and have it assigned to your agent, dial the number and talk to your AI agent. The same agent can also be added to your website as a chatbot by going to the appropriate page from the Channels tab. Enjoy talking to your new AI employee!
